August

August was tough and I just didn't have the time to update the website with each weeks' journal; thus, here is a overview of August:

We stunk in late July and throughout August! We lost the handle on the car ever since we had the DNF (did not finish) on July 10th. The car has no side bite and no forward bite as we slide all over the track. This is not the car we had last year and on July 10th.

Throughout late July and August, I tore the car apart numerous times trying to find the smoking gun causing these handling issues. We replaced nearly EVERYTHING in the rear suspension. I rented the track following the August 14th race and we made huge gains on getting the car to handle, but it still doesn't feel like it did last year.

We continued to struggle for all of August never finishing better than 6th in the feature. The car handles horrible and now the engine is starting to cause me problems.

We'll keep working on it in September --- I'll figure it out.
