Proud Parents of Christopher Robert Meredith:
Christopher and Teresa are doing fine, but it was a little too exiciting for a while. Our due date was July 14th, but the little guy was in a hurry so the water broke at 4:30 am June 21st. Teresa began contractions soon after, but something was wrong. Teresa was bleeding and this bleeding continued to escalate with each contraction. At 8:30 am Christopher's heart rate began to slow and Teresa was getting strange pains in the abdomin. The Placenta had ruptured! The doctor made a decision that an emergency C-Section was required and all hell broke loose - we were wisked down the hall to the operating room; Teresa was given a spinal block and shortly after Christopher was born! Teresa had lost numerous pints of blood and was visably pale and weak, but the doctor refrained from any transfusions. At this time, I was sent to the newborn area to watch my son being cleaned, weighed and checked over - he is perfect! All my adult life I have wondered if I was cut out to be a father and in the blink of an eye all that doubt went away - seeing my son for the first time made it clear! Check out my photo gallery of Christoper by clicking HERE. I have NEVER been so proud as I was on June 21st! Proud of my wife for NEVER once complaining about ANYTHING during her pregnancy and coming through this difficult birth. Proud of my son - he is one HANDSOME little dude - must take after his mom!!!! Proud of myself for taking on the responsibility of fatherhood. It has been a few weeks since the birth, Teresa remains weak as she continues to heal her abdomin and gain blood cells. Christopher is doing what healthy babies do - eating, sleeping and pooping. How can that much poop come out of something that small??? Since this is basically a RACING oriented site:I don't know if Christopher will be interested in racing - odds are he will since I am so ate up with it. I hope he enjoys this sport and if he chooses to race; I look forward to someday racing (and being beaten by) my son - that will be a PROUD day.
